You totally miss my point, I don't have an 'opinion' as to whether or not any of the accusations/claims etc. about Cliff Richard are true or false, I'm not in a suitably informed position to express an opinion or a view, and thus to me it would be wholly inappropriate (not forgetting the potential legal consequences) of anyone to publicly express such an opinion or view. But, and this illustrates my point, can you really make such a definitive statement as "he has been a fine example of how one should behave" on the basis of meeting someone afew times over the course of 50 years ? - as you say Jimmy Savile had a reputation whilst he was alive, yet look at all the similar statements to yours about Cliff that all kinds of people said about Savile during his lifetime. |
