| Unfortunately there also seem to be some people who don't pay any attention to the info on the Council's website. These are people who are perfectly capable of accessing it and use smart phones. They are selfish and idle and should be advised of their shortcomings and their attention drawn to the fines that can be imposed. In a minority of cases the mess and mix of unwashed tins and unsquashed and unseparated paper and cardboard and bottles can be quite disgusting and add to that the plastics that are also mixed with in when they should be in the white plastics bag (or presumably SEPARATE green box if this is not available as people who have asked for a new one have apparently been told) I am not surprised that they don't want to separate it kerbside. The information going out is not good enough. If there is a problem then the crew should be leaving a note saying why. Instead they just throw the boxes around. They still need to target the properties where there is a problem and they don't and I don't get the feeling that there is the proper backup at the Council or liaison between the parties involved. |
