We visited Alhambra a couple of years back whilst on a week holiday near Malaga, it's quite a spectacle although we got there early in the morning to ensure we could see the Nastrid Palaces, and it turned out that by late morning we'd pretty much seen everything. Definitely think it's best to get there early to avoid the later crowds.
Once we'd finished at Alhambra I drove up to the main skiing village in Sierra Nevada (under an hours drive away from Alhambra), which was a pleasant detour if you're into skiing/being in the mountains.
