| The NHS isn't alone in spending money on apparently pointless and wasteful seminars. However, you will generally find that there is often a logical reason for doing this kind of thing. Not knowing the specifics of the example you cite it is impossible to say exactly why the course was structured the way it was but there are all sorts of stipulations about Continuing Professional Development and Investors in People that the HR department of any large organisation needs to comply with. It would be interesting to know what response you got when you raised your concerns about the apparent examples of waste. |
