| The NHS could probably afford to give everyone a 10% pay rise if they stopped the dreadful wastage.It is some years now since I held a fairly senior position in a nort west London NHS trust, but the wastage then was so prolific I doubt very much if the wastage has been reduced significantly since I left due to all new starters being indoctrinated into the wasteful regimes. A simple example of the sort of wastage would be our attendance at a seminar.The seminar ran for two days and was held in Regents Park.Myself and the two colleagues that also attended the function all lived within ten miles of the venue yet the three of us were put up at the Regents Park Hilton for three nights when we could have caught the tube home.The catering at the seminar was supplied by Pru Leith. Cut out all of the pomposity and the NHS could save a fortune. |
