Because they are stuck between rock and a hard place quite obviously Andy. Most people who are ambulance crew members or nurses have the health and well being of the general public (that's you and me btw) at heart and are caring individuals. We should be thankful that they are taking a responsible attitude toward the withdrawal of their labour, unlike what you are suggesting. They also want to keep the public ' on side' as regards support for the strike. The longer they strike for the more likely people will die uneccessarily and then whatever public support there happened to be would diminish greatly. |
