Your experience is not unusual. The outpatients bookings at Charing Cross, St Mary's and Hammersmith were all found to be "inadequate". Part of the problem is the Cerner patient management system which has not worked properly since it was installed, but that is not the whole story. There are different booking procedures with different consultants. The CQC are extremely concerned by these variations and manifest unsatisfactory performance. They are demanding an improvement.
