Hi, A dentist won't work with sedation as its dangerous in a dental surgery. There is too much risk & not every dentist is qualified to give sedation. Usually they will refer you to a hospital (where, if there is a problem, they can deal with it) or they will refer to a dentist who is qualified to do it & specialises in it. It is for your own safety really & that's a mark of a good dentist who won't just do it for the money!! Lots of complications with this type of thing. If your relative could have work without - that would be better for them & safer. If not, then rather than the gas (where there is a lot of risk) I'd recommend taking half a prescribed Valium before treatment- much less risky & they won't remember anything! Good luck! |
