But that is like what was said before the wars in the last century - women were too emotional to be able to vote, so weren't allowed to, allowing them to have the same kind of jobs as men would mean they would grow facial hair and become infertile - all total nonesense, and it was only the fact that women were needed to till the land and man the factories which included very hard physical work - as well as being organised when they were keeping the back offices running - that meant that when the war ended men no longer had an excuse to keep them out of the world of work. Let them try, if it doesn't work fine, it won't continue and nor should it, but why should anyone be prevented from what they want to do if they can do it because they were born a certain sex - or colour, or religious or sexual orientation for that matter? I am surprised at the detractors on here. Anyway, it is going ahead whether anyone here likes it or not so we will see whether it works or not, I just hope the girls are given a fair crack of the whip and not bullied, humiliated etc just for being women as has happened in the forces before. |
