Oh i don't know Keith. Many Virgin ideas have flopped badly over the years. Virgin is just a Brand name licensed out and RB does very well from it. I think Virgin Media is a classic example where Branson owns hardly nothing of the media group and does not sit on the board either,but is used in the adverts for good publicity. The train company i think is half owned by Stagecoach and the airline is about the same with Singapore Airlines and i think someone owns half of the Gym part. millions by licensing the brand name had served him well,but others have to get it right or they go under. Virgin Cola and Virgin Cosmetics are 2 flops i can think of,but saying that it is a strong brand name. |
