| "Michael Nadra ... expensive, fussy, overly-elaborate food" One of the delights for me of dining at Michael Nadra is the way he combines the tastes of different ingredients. I can see why some might regard this as fussy or overly-elaborate, but it's a distinctive style that in my experience works well. Maybe you did get them on an off-night. It's not that expensive compared to La Trompette, and Nadra is in my view at a similar level of ability. Claire asked about Sam's. It's still good. Less "serious" than Trompette or Nadra, but a great atmosphere, well-judged cooking, and a welcoming warm service from Sam's team. |
