With a mother in her early 90s who is now in very frail health, the refusal to have a hearing aid test and installed when she was healthier and more alert, has been sadly compounded in its impact for her. So all your criticisms from my own experience are very valid.

Hopefully technology will facilitate an easier solution - as with so many crippling and debilitating illnesses early identification and taking appropriate remedial action would greatly benefit society.
