I expect that the provision of an outdoor gym like so many other things that the Council does depends on getting a grant from somewhere. There was a list of grants someone posted which included Arts Council and National Lottery funding but there are others eg the Mr Pickles fund. If we have a good wheeze we should suggest it to him in the hopes that he will offer funding for it. You would also then have to make sure that your Council applied for the funding. Unfortunately so many of these funds have conditions which can be difficult to stick to and mean that sometimes things are done without enough research and deliberation because there is a restricted time scale. I suppose they think that it ups the game but I think that it probably means that a lot of money is badly spent and so wasted. Aren't there courses held showing you how to use the outdoor gym equipment? I think I've seen them advertised (or one advertised). |
