In the "Lost Rivers of London" (Nicholas Barton, 1962), it says on page 39: "The third* and most Westerly stream came down from West Acton, crossed under Bollo Bridge (earlier known as Bull Hollow bridge), followed the curving line of Bollo Lane and finally ran Eastward through Turnham Green to join the other streams. In 1826 it was called Boller Brook. " * the other two streams were Old Oak Common stream, and the Warple. All part of Stamford Brook, according to Barton. Apologies if I am duplicating something someone already said. It's a fascinating book by the way, with a lovely fold out map of all London's lost rivers. |
