Mark, that's great news.In the cold light of day, when no doubt the fug of alcohol has lifted from his brain and he can think straight, he has realised you will report this to the police and he would be well and truly in the cak.
If, as he says he swerved to avoid a fox, why then did he not stop and leave his details on your wifes car ? He probably thought you would have called the police and before long his specimen of breath would be sending the traffic lights on the alcometer speeding towards the red and a spectacular "fail"and a night in the slammer would be on the cards.Much better to clear the booze out of your system and then own up the next day when a breath test and awkward questions about no existent foxes would just make you look stupid but wouldn't cost you your licence for 12 months and a few hundred quid in fines.Anyway, at least he had the balls to own upto the crash so hopefully things should be fairly straightforward for you now.Good luck.
