| I had a very alarming experience with an Ouija board when I was, apparently, not old enough to know better. Anyway since that time I have realised exactly who in our group was pushing the board, and why, and I no longer have any belief in supernatural powers concerned with Ouija boards or anything else. Unfortunately it's in the nature of Ouija boards to appear to be moving on their account when in reality it is to do with muscular movements, conscious or otherwise, of the participants. Derren Brown did a brilliant demonstration of this phenomenon. Rather than ban these things from being sold I would like children to be taught to develop their critical thinking abilities so that they won't be taken in by such nonsense. |
