From the recent Lib Dem newsletter: Council agrees to collect household waste fortnightly Labour-run Ealing Council voted on 25th November to only collect our household waste every two weeks. Your Liberal Democrat Councillors are against this plan for a number of reasons: • We do not believe the Council and the current contractor will be able to manage this change. • Many areas will look less visually attractive. • Lots of homes do not have space for two large wheelie bins. Councillor Andrew Steed said: "A previous consultation showed that most residents were against wheelie bins. Our streets are dirty with litter and missed collections. I think the Council should knuckle down and get them to do the job they are paid to do, rather than leave us with the blight of thousands of wheelie bins across Southfield." |
