Sadly a bad sprain will stretch all three peroneal tendons and take ages to 'restore' if you use them at all. The old solution is still the best: R = rest I = ice or cooling packs (frozen rice bags are great) C = compression, a good cohesive bandage will limit movement E = elevation, raise it and support your calf not the ankle directly. If is something that keeps happening get an Aircast cool boot to bring down the swelling and get a referral to CXH they have a wonderful 'ankle' consultant there s I know to my benefit). |
