I also recieved a ticket there. We were parked in the bay closest to the Town Hall. In the appeal I mentioned two things. First, as I had paid by Ringo, they could clearly see that I had fully intended to pay for parking. Then I explained with photos how, understandably, I had bought the ticket (got the Ringo code) from the machine I was stood in front of. I couldn't even see the other machine several car lengths away as there was a van in front of it. Took photos to show there were no signs on the machine to indicate this would be a problem, and to show my car and the ticket machine immediately in front. I thought I had a clear case - they had proof I had bought a ticket, and evidence that that the only reason it wasn't valid was because of inadequate signage. The appeal wasn't successful. Really wanted to carry on .... but had an annoying attack of can't-be-bothered-itis. Annoyed with myself doing precisely what they rely on happening! |
