My apologies for maintaining radio silence but this has been a long complicated event with a happy outcome.
I received this message last night.
"Bessie Boo has settled into her foster home very well, she is getting rounder by the day so it’s  probably not long now until she has her kittens.  Her fosterer says she is adorable and seems happy and content just to be indoors and warm."

Bessie Boo (I named her) was living in a pile of rubbish in a back garden of an empty house. Her appearance and behaviour suggested to me that she had kittens somewhere.
When it came time to rescue her and 'kittens' we had to move all that rubbish. It was then we discovered behind it all, a small broken window. We assumed she had kittens hidden in the house.
Not being able to enter, we had to forego the rescue. I always made sure she was fed several times a day and I knew the house was providing some shelter.
Eventually, she let me hold her. I could see no evidence she was feeding kittens despite her swollen nipples. One night I whizzed her off to the vets for a quick  exam - no microchip and the vet confirmed she was not nursing. My thoughts were that she was pregnant or she had had kittens and they had died or been killed.
Finally a call came through from HAWS about a 'vacancy' and I whisked her away to Richmond Vets where she was given a health check and is now with a fosterer.
So she was going to have kittens after all. I cannot tell you how relieved I am that she is off the street and somewhere warm.
She is the dearest little soul that one!

So a big thanks to HAWS and see my next new post.

Here are some pictures of her in her old 'London Home.'
