I think they are very good quality, and you get pretty good advice from the company when choosing the spec etc.
We went for one based on friends having them and being impressed. One thing we noticed, and liked, was the weight of the Isla bike seemed much lower than some comparables - ie much easier for a 6year old to get on with.
Final thought, check eBay etc. I think there is a healthy second hand market in them. So when you need to scale up, maybe you re-coup some of the premium. I guess we'll find out as about to go through that process ourselves.
