| Don't know why everyone is so bemused about this. It is about money - nothing else. The FA gets more money the way things are. If they leave FIFA and no-one else does then bang goes the money as they won't be able to play either friendlies or in any competition. Nor would the English clubs be allowed to take part in the European Cup, Europa Cup etc. As for the WC takin place during the winter in Qatar, for England that is not so bad as their players won't be as knackered as they are during June/July so they will have a better chance of winning. Regarding the comment about rugby they do seem to try harder but just wait until it becomes more competitive at a national level - and therefore more money is involved. Those with vested interests will soon creep out of the woodwork. |
