|I feel for you and your poor dogs. I am lucky in that my current dog is not in the least bit bothered but my last dog took nearly four years to cure of being gun shy havng suffered 11 previous years of trauma.|
There are various things that you can do but it is the unpredictability that makes it hard. I think that it is time for a campaign to ban the sale of fireworks to the public and impose heavy licencing conditions on public displays, including a restriction on the number of licences issued. The trouble is, although there are some legal restrictions, they don't seem to be policed and it is not often possible to locate the problem to report it. I am also fed up with twisting my ankle slipping down the craters dug in local parks by people letting off mortar-sized explosives, not to mention the litter and fire risks.
