My most memorable visit was at 38000 feet above the Bay of Biscay. The pilot had warned us we were in for a rough ride, and we should fasten our seat belts. But when you gotta go, you gotta go.I thought I would be able to get to the loo and back before we hit the turbulance.Wrong ! I had assumed the position and was starting to feel much better, when the bloody floor disappeared and I found myself in freefall mid stream. It happened so quickly, I didn't have time to take evasive action.Needless to say, making my way back to my seat wearing my new sky blue trousers with a horrible dark blue spreading stain along the front and legs of said trousers was rather embarrassing. To make matters even worse, the plane dropped again before I got back to my seat and I fell over and cut my head.More embarrassment ! I was only about 17 at the time and I just wished the bottom of the plane would fall out and take me with it. |
