Richard, you are quite correct, newspaper was banned for wrapping fish and chips because of the toxic effect of the ink used in printing then.But it wasn't banned recently.It was back in the 70's when I was still frying in the Fauconberg Fish Bar.Customers used to bring their old newspapers in for us and when we had to swap to plain white wrapping paper, we were swamped with newspapers and had to ask the council to remove it.The change to plain paper was also quite expensive |
