It's not just one's own cleaning that is the issue. I'm more than capable of taking care of myself but, for my sins, others I've lived with somehow imagine it's my responsibility to do much more around the home than it is theirs just because I'm decent at it. Over-parenting to blame if you ask me. Speaking of which, thesedays a much loved hubby thinks I should be the one to grab the pant tongs, retrieve his worn items from the floordrobe, launder them and ensure they magically appear back in his dresser. Then do the food shop and prepare whatever food he prefers. Then fill and empty the dishwasher. Then put the bins out. Then do the gardening. Etc etc. All with tedious monotony and all necessary activities (unless one prefers to live in an unsanitary midden) which a cleaner does not do. Quite enough when I work equally as hard as much loved hubby. A cleaner is our luxury, not to mention barney mitigator. |
