Is there any detail about what is being proposed in this area? All that I could find was proposals for an east-west route that included a cycleway on the A40 between Westway and Acton. Would be sceptical about usage levels on that particularly as it would duplicate a journey that will be dramatically improved for many potential users by the arrival of Crossrail. The A4 would be an obvious route for a an equivalent cycle highway but it would be interesting to see actual plans particularly how they would handle the main roundabouts and the potential pinch point around Talgarth Road. London Travel Watch are expressing concerns about the plans particularly with regard to the impact on bus travel times - but they seem to refer mainly to east London. Wouldn't really be an issue for a cycle highway on the A4.
