| As per my comments in the other thread this has nothing to do with saving landfill. Hounslow is part of the West London Waste Authority which has a major incinerator due to come online in Gloucestershire. Most black bin waste will go into this and be counted as recycling because a small amount of energy will be generated from burning it. The saving to LBH comes in the form of reduced collection costs. The contract for this is almost definitely already signed so it is unlikely you will persuade the Council to change their mind. |
