If you are going to go for an alarm, be very careful who you get it from and what monitoring/response it provide.Do not, under any circumstances fit an unmonitored alarm.Police will not attend an alarm activation if it is not monitored, unless someone has actually been seen entering the property.Even if your alarm is monitored, make sure it is kept in perfect working order. If police attend a false activation, they will issue you with a warning. If you then have another false activation, the alarm will become 'banned'and police will not attend any future activations from that address. It maybe worth contacting the alarms office at the Metropolitan police. They can arrange an alarm for you which will have a unique reference code.Sould your alarm activate, your unique code will give the police all the details they need and ensure a speedy response |
