@ Thomas Barry I live on the East end of Stile Hall Gardens and I regularly can't get to my house to park due to cars backing up down the road trying to get onto Chiswick High road between Chiswick roundabout and Kew Bridge. The same also applies to Wellesley road, the A4 off ramp and Chiswick High road leading into Chiswick roundabout. Most of this congestion is due to the level of traffic trying to cross Kew bridge. I agree with Michael Robinson that it could never be properly resolved without replacing the bridge - and this ain't gonna happen. However, 5 or more years ago the traffic flows were changed on the south side of the bridge and this, together with, as Chris Calvi Freeman called it "an over active pedestrian traffic light" on that side of the bridge, significantly aggravated the situation.
