Buy dry logs for this year and make sure they are not from resin trees like pines. In the meantime follow the tree cutters round and after yesterdays storm there should be quite a lot of cutting going on. Collect logs for stacking which will dry out and be seasoned in time for coming years. The guys are usually happy to cut logs to reasonable sizes if you are nice to them. I have also collected a box (the size of a recycling box) full of twigs and thin branches for kindling. My husband made me a storage place using old pallets. We covered the top with roofing felt to keep it dry. |
