As a resident of the development, I was sceptical about the effectiveness of the gate and therefore did not object when the planning went in, But I have to say: I'm glad it's there now, as since its operation there has been a huge reduction in litter, dog crap and damage to cars and plants, plus a lot less foot fall through Chiswick Park via the lion gate by the school kids, some of whom think it's their right to cause vandalism and distruption whilst walking through on their way to school. I hate to say it but it's got nothing to do with poshness, far from it, but rather about our right to live in a nice environment which we have to upkeep (not your rates) and pay for. Would all of you all who have to walk a little bit further like it if what was happening to the development happened in your front garden or outside your house..? I think not... !!! |
