Here's an appeal from Alick Munro, which I promised to pass on: Have you ever been caught in a traffic jam on the A316 on a rugby day? They happen because fans walking between the stadium and the expanding Twickenham Station have to cross the Chertsey Rd under police escort at street level at the junction with Whitton Rd. We locals feel imprisoned in our homes. It's bad for business. It's going to be worse during the rugby world cup and if Chelsea FC play their home games at Twickenham and if Transport for London remove the existing pedestrian bridge some 200 yards west of the Whitton Rd junction. The situation calls for pedestrian bridges either side of the junction with Whitton Rd. I've started a petition about this. Here's the link. Rather unhelpfully, when you use the link, you'll get a message that says "Petition not Found", but you can see it on the list and click on it. http://www.petitions24.com/pedestrian_bridges_over_chertsey_rd_for_twickenham_rugby_crowds I hope you'll sign the petition and add your comments.
