One thing I have noticed that none of you have mentioned, is the inspection panel on Hammersmith flyover that has created a ramp that is causing everyone to slow down. After the ramp the traffic is a lot less than it normally is on the A4, so the traffic that would normally be queuing at Earls court, is now queuing through Chiswick. When people get to Hogarth roundabout and see the traffic on the A4, they try to drive round it, by going along Dorchester road/Chiswick Lane, then turning right onto the High road causing the problem up to Goldhawk road. I would guess the recent increase in traffic has nothing to do with the timings being changed, but are caused by the inspection panel/ramp on Hammersmith flyover making people drive slower or take a different route. |
