"Could people walk, cycle, take the bus?"

Yes, although of course the buses themselves are suffering from the congestion caused by cars.  I've got to work in Hammersmith Thursday and Friday this week and will be cycling rather than taking the bus, and fingers crossed it's not too wet.

One other knock on - about two weeks ago there suddenly started being a lot more northbound traffic on Turnham Green Terrace, such that it holds up southbound traffic after the LC barriers lift.  I reckon it's people avoiding Sutton Court Road due to the lights fiddling there backing traffic up over the bridge now.

It's really not on making us suffer for TfL's ludicrous agenda of speeding up traffic on the main roads.
