"Tragic, individual cases of people having very bad experiences with the NHS have gained great traction and are influencing opinion. But is that reasonable?"

The Francis Investigation Inquiry into the Mid-Staffs PHT should have been a wake up call to all those that believe that the NHS is/was not deeply flawed in the way that it is/was run.

You do not (from memory) get over 290 recommendations relating to ‎"a tragic individual case". This was massive institutional failure over many years affecting the lives (and deaths) of thousands of people. The problem was "culture" not "cash".
