I've noticed recently that the eastbound traffic bottleneck on the High Road seems to have moved eastward. Specifically, traffic seems to move at sub-walking pace from TGT, through the Chiswick Lane junction and on to the Goldhawk Road light. I think what's happened is they've lengthened the phase for Goldhawk Road (and the left turn filter) and shortened the High Road/King Street phase. When I finally got through the light this morning there was no queue at all coming down Goldhawk Road, so by that measure at least they've overdone it. It's probably true that the majority of traffic in both directions is making that turn, but eastbound the problem is that the bus lane and bus stops prevents turning traffic making proper use of the left turn filter, and the queue just backs up further and further. Has anyone else noticed this? I ask as a reality check before I contact TfL (and in the hope that others might contact them too) |
