Isn't it the case though, that the results of broad studies by respected bodies can lead to established practice which then may be difficult to shift.

Then there has to be a disaster based on individual circumstances which brings in progress or restoration even.

I don't like the waiting for a disaster to happen. It can prompt those accountability ducking whinges that "we must learn by our mistakes".

So we should be constantly looking for improvements based on small errors (before they become big errors).

We should pay I think when we see a medic. Perhaps up to an annual limit. Even someone on benefits should pay a pound up to a lower limit. We should all have to carry a medical card replicated onto our mobile phones. The card will gradually more and more of our medical history.

A professor who looks after one aspect of my health and is approaching retirement longs to stop work. He says more and more he sees decisions being made on who should have more treatment to save or prolong their lives - and who should not.

The NHS needs more funds to keep buying a wider range of drugs as well as all the other things.
