It is only a great circle if the Crow maintains constant altitude. If, for example, it was flying between two church steeples of equal height and it swooped from the first and then rose up to land on the second as would be normal, then it would have followed a straight line if the curve of the swoop mirrored the curvature of the earth. (I do occasionally get out, but not enough) |
