Memories are short. In 2010 David Cameron was the only Party Leader to promise to ring fence spending on the NHS.

Gordon Brown pulled the plug on the comprehensive spending review that should have reported in October 2009. This would have revealed the massive gap between forecast Government revenues and planned Government expenditure.   

No nation "deserves" a high quality NHS but we can have one if we are prepared to pay for it through our taxes. However this requires that "we" means all of us and not just "those rich bastards". Time for some grown up choices to be made.
