The argument that because cannabis may cause health problems in some vulnerable people is a reason for prohibition is not valid.

Cannabis, like other drugs needs to be regulated, rather like alcohol and, of course, taxed.  This would make it safer because at present kids are buying the stuff from de facto criminals and, as has been pointed out earlier,this might well the strongest varieties of skunk leading to ... well, imagine teenagers downing brandy by the pint and you get the idea.

Regulation would lead to properly labelled stuff being sold to adults only.  The tax could help fund the NHS.  Criminals would, at a stroke, be deprived of an easy source of income.
