Brendan, it's not a fantasy. Every person who gave their opinion on that petition also gave their names and addresses. It is publicly lodged with the Mayor's office and LBH, you can see it any time you want. You just don't want to. The only reason why some people have changed their minds about a CPZ is because the displacement from Park and Staveley Roads has made parking impossible in their roads. It has been forced upon them. Many of them now feel they have no choice but to accept a CPZ in their road. But they didn't want one in 2011 and they don't one today. The 94% figure is perfectly valid and you know that. So does everyone else. When Councillor Ed Mayne presented that petition at the council meeting in July 2011, our elected councillors realised it as well, which is why they voted unanimously AGAINST any CPZ in Grove Park / SOTG. And it's why Ed Mayne said at that meeting "This matter how now been fully resolved". |
