"They have also seen the substantial benefits of the Park Road/east Staveley Road CPZ." Not just them, it's plainly obvious to anyone with eyes that the CPZ areas of Park and Staveley are substantially improved over the areas to either side. I can't say I've any great objection to residents of those areas trying to get the area extended, although I do tend to consider the whole idea of tackling excess traffic on a piecemeal basis less satisfactory than trying to reduce traffic in the area generally, as with the Sutton Court Road/A4 farrago. By the way, the area west of SCR is being consulted on for 20mph speed limits, if the resident petrolheads want something to do other than campaigning for the rights of people who don't live or pay council tax here to leave their vehicles lying around our streets. One of the few negatives of the CPZ scheme is improving traffic flow to such a degree that it's moving too fast for a residential area, particularly given that there's a school at each end of it, so I intend to respond by asking for the whole area up to the A316 to be included. |
