You really aren't very well informed, are you ? Labour made a clear manifesto pledge to hold a referendum before signing the Treaty. Their excuse for not doing so was that a couple of clauses had been altered, so it wasn't the same treaty. Nothing about being in a financial crisis. Cameron promised a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty if he was in a position to organise one before the Treaty was signed. He wasn't. So we should vote Labour to stop the electorate having its chance to deliver a decisive verdict on Britain's membership of the EU, should we ? But then, listening to the people has never been one of the strengths of a party whose leader was elected by a union block vote. You just can't trust Labour. |
