The balloons and bunting will be out this Sunday for the market’s third birthday – and with it another cause for celebration: the publication of Kew Village Market Cookbook, a collection of over 100 recipes using our stallholders’ wonderful produce. Kew resident and award-winning cookery writer Sarah Edington is the one who’s worked with 25 of our regular food stallholders and three Kew traders to produce a uniquely delicious volume, with expert recommendations from The Good Wine Shop and Real Ale Ltd for drinks to match many of the recipes. The glossy paperback, with line drawings and atmospheric photos of the market, is wire-bound (to lie flat when you’re cooking from it) and costs £10 from the Kew Village Market’s own stall. Every Kew home should have one – not least because all the profits from the book will be going to local charities. So why not treat yourself and support a lot of good causes? Adding to the party feeling will be new-to-Kew stall Beeutiful Faces where Alejandra Florez will be turning children into magical creatures with her exquisite face painting and glitter tattoos; newcomer Magnolia Dolls will also be joining us, with Pennie Mendes selling her characterful, very adoptable calico dolls. And we’re delighted to say welcome back to Sugar Maddy Cakes, one of our founder stalls three years ago, returning to join in the celebrations. Also our music will be thanks to Jukes, the very first band to play at Kew Village Market – what could be more fitting? Happy birthday to us! Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday 5th October from 10am to 2pm! |
