Many years ago I was banned from Poundland in Hammersmith ! My crime ? My two year old daughter had chewed the end of a roll of wrapping paper I had put it back as I had picked up too many rolls,unaware that it had been chewed ( she was teething ) . When I got to the till a shop floor worker accosted me and said I was banned for destroying goods ! I offered to buy it as it wound be useful for pass the parcel but was told to leave the shop as I was barred !  Demented ! Never went there again . I generally feel it fills the Woolworth gap- so why they went under I don't really know.
