You are free to breastfeed anywhere in public. If you are in a bar or restaurant I would summon the restaurant staff and ask them to deal with the complainant. Restaurants and public places have a duty not to discriminate against breastfeeding. It is the complainant who should be made to feel guilty not you. I do believe discretion is the key when feeding in public. A previous poster suggested the use of a muslin which is a quick and easy solution but there are breastfeeding slings in mothercare which allow complete discretion. Never ever use public toilets to feed your child please. You would not eat there and neither should they. Maybe download and print a few of the equality act sheets and hand them to someone who complains. http://www.maternityaction.org.uk/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/breastfeedingpublicplace.pdf |
