It seems that Mr Cameron had the choice of maintaining welfare and the NHS OR the armed services (between a rock and a hard place).   He decided welfare and NHS were more important which is why we are where we are!  Most of the electorate agreed with him at the time I think.   The previous Labour government had blown most of our money leaving the country heavily in debt.   There's only so much cash in the coffers and it can only stretch so far - somethings have to go and like it or not, our armed forces took the big hit.   Can't quite see how much help our puny efforts will make - suppose it's a nod to supporting the USA. I really don't understand why the Saudi's with all their resources and wealth aren't being pressurised into fronting up the offensive against this  murderous Isil bunch.   The sooner we have our own nuclear power supply and cease being so dependent on the Middle East for oil and gas the better. We should stop faffing about with wind farms and solar panels and put all that money into developing safe nuclear power.
