You simply describe a simple air division battery with the iron rod acting as the cathode and the copper ball as the anode. Of course the iron rod depletes and then you need more energy to smelt /cast a new iron rod - think it through. Nothing special in that at all and children have been making such 'air' batteries for years. You can do the same be depleting metals in salt water. Of course, all you no need to do is find devices that will work on the millivolts that are produced and a way of transmitting this around the country to ensure a constant reliable supply capable of meeting peaks of demand. |
