You are correct Susan...there is a large amount of BS going on. If you were to have your kitchen rewired by an electrician he would hard put in hard wired spurs for any under counter appliance such as a fridge, freezer or washing machine. Changing an appliance that has out lived its use is effectively no more difficult than wiring a plug. I think one of your Curry's installers would quite probably hard wire a machine in at home but Curry's have told them not to do this in a customer's home, quite understandably. It doesn't help now but it is a good idea to mention when you buy that the appliance will need hard wiring. Some people seem to make it sound a lot harder than it actually is. |
